More Ta Nali is a Bulgarian folklore song reimagined by Dandelion Lakewood and Slovenian vocalist Metka Knap. A 7/8 frame drum rhythm grounds Turkish bağlama (lute) and swirling atmospheric synthesizers to unfold a timeless lover's tale.
lyrics
Море та нали вчера думахме [More ta nali vchera dumakhme]
(Didn't we talk yesterday)
Bulgarian
❧
More ta nali vchera dumakhme,
Vchera za snoshti da dojdesh,
More zaedno da vecherjame,
Naedno da sedenkjame?
More ludo le ludo pa mlado,
Vecherja ni gosti dojdoja,
Mama mi rabota najde,
More bela pogacha da mesa,
I rujno vino da tocha.
❧
Didn't we talk yesterday,
Yesterday night about you coming over,
To spend the evening together,
At the working bee?
Oh my crazy young man,
Last night we had guests,,
My mom put me to work,
Making bread,
And pouring sparkling wine.
